The Nikon Indy 300 held in
Gold Coast is the open wheel motor race event. This race is held once every
year. It is 4.4kms or 2.75miles, of pure
adrenaline rush!! The circuit has many fast sections. There are also a couple
of chicanes or S shaped curves, which can be tricky for the racers. Also the
track contains 7 bridges, 2515 barriers, more than 140 corporate suite bookers
making it a challenging race.
Since its introduction in
1991, the race has brought in Gold Coast residents a feeling of thrill and
excitement. The circuit is internationally acclaimed. The residential complex,
commercial and holiday terminal spread
around the Gold Coast area were all transformed into structures that could
support a high speed driving facility over a period of 12 months.

Bourdais has the most wins under his belt. In 2007 the pole position was held
by Will Power Australian Team. Drivers like Will Power, Ryan Briscoe and Scot
Dixon participate in the event that makes the race a great event to follow.
The race is four days and
four night of extreme power packed event. It is 96 hours of incessant adventure
at the Gold Coast. The roars of the engines fill up the regions lazy airs with
energy and excitement. The red hot event of eastern Australia has tourists and locals
alike in its attendance. The cars howl past the audience and the sights and
sounds of Gold Coast. The series has a few practice sessions, followed by qualifiers
and the actual race back to back, so that there is not even a single action
less minute.
The supercars at the Nikon
Indy 300 have 650 horsepower engines. Fords, Holdens and other such big names
all line up at the Surfers Paradise for the race. Over the months preceding the
race the excitement that builds up is huge. The track preparation takes about
two weeks or more. The fans of local drivers fill the streets in large numbers
and chant the names of their favorite racer in unison. Of course all the

The race is generally held in
