A Palm Beach Holiday

Palm Beach on the Gold Coast is situated between Tallebudgera Creek and Currumbin Creek. The coastline of Palm Beach has been voted the cleanest beach in Queensland twice - well worth a visit! Palm Beach was subdivided in the mid 1950s with streets on both sides of the highway. These streets are named from First Ave to Twenty-Eighth Ave. The streets start at the southern end and each second street ends at the highway, making the area very easy to get around.

Jefferson Lane is in the southern part of the area between the beach and the highway.  This narrow lane still boasts some of the earliest and most basic of original Gold Coast beach shacks.  Some are on blocks of land that have since become extremely valuable beachfront property.

Tallebudgera Creek is a must see whilst holidaying in Palm Beach. The water is absolutely crystal clear and beautiful to take a dip in. The Neptune's Surf Life Saving Club, the first female only SLSC in Australia provides patrol services for those swimming in Tallebudgera Creek estuary. If your Gold Coast holiday is in the winter months and you don't fancy a swim, you could still take a picnic down to the shore and admire this wonderful display of nature.

The Tallebudgera Creek and the national recreation camp border the Palm Beach area on the north.  To the south of Palm Beach are tower developments at the mouth of Currumbin Creek. There are training walls built during the 1970s, which you can find on the creek mouths of Tallebudgera and Currumbin. These Creek mouths are dredged annually. Along Palm Beach shore there are bait reefs and offshore you can find fishing reefs. Some of these are considered very productive.

In the southwestern part of the suburb is Laguna Lake, which has a park around its edges. The Tallebudgera Recretaional Camp nearby the park is a national fitness camp visited by children from all over Queensland.

There is a wide range of Palm Beach accommodation available to Gold Coast holiday makers. Take the whole family and book yourself a beautiful beach house, or take in the spectacular coastal views from a high floor of a Palm Beach high rise resort. Whatever type would suit you most, you are sure to find it amongst our Palm Beach accommodation listings.
